The GLK 280 V6 from the Lorinser

Sportservice Lorinser consciously chose the fiery opal colour for the paintwork of its latest GLK with the 280 V6 petrol engine. With its pervasive radiance the eponymous gem is one of the most coveted and exclusive opals in the world – and it is the only one with which you can uncover the full shine with a facet cut.

As a result the traditional tuner from Winnenden has worked on all the corners and edges, in order to create an exclusive piece of work with incomparable brilliance out of the SUV. As a special optical highlight, the Lorinser front spoiler reflects the radiator grille of the GLK on the horizontal axis and thereby provides an expressive front design. The dark recessed insert is flanked on the left and right by the fog lights.

While precious stones loose volume through polishing, the GLK actually gains substance due to the work of Lorinser. The ribbed side sills in particular provide the 170kW / 231 HP strong SUV with more volume, and thanks to the Lorinser lowering set it hugs the tarmac in a bold sporty manner. The rear view of the four-wheeler is presented as a perfect piece of jewellery and appears to be made of incomparable fire. The Lorinser rear apron with the pronounced indentations definitely flirts with a degree of martiality – an impression which the dark insert with the sports grille and implied underride guard further intensify. On its flanks it sports a pair of sonorous double-pipes of the Lorinser stainless steel exhaust unit. In connection with the smooth six-cylinder engine under the bonnet the compact SUV thereby also proves to be an acoustic jewel. Real high-carats are, of course, not missing in the wheel arches: with their special varnish – matt black combined with a polishe d rim flange – the huge 9 x 22 inch Lorinser RS 9 light-alloy wheels provide real highlights. They are enclosed by the 265 millimetre wide Yokohama tyres. The contrast with the red outer colour of the vehicle is increased by the dark recessed wheel arches. With it the designers have succeeded in creating a real piece of jewellery, which constantly attracts attention to its owner.

Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG by Carlsson

The most dynamic business limousine by Mercedes-Benz is the E 63 AMG. The company AMG which is located in Affalterbach skilfully combines 525 hp (386 kW) with very luxurious interior equipment. But for Carlsson this was neither dynamic nor luxurious enough. The automobile manufacturer from Merzig / Saarland presents the new E-CK63 RS based on the E 63 AMG and thereby discloses the technical possibilities.

The core part of the refinement is the entirely re-engineered V8-engine. The Carlsson engineers accomplished to boost the performance from 525 hp (386 kW) to impressive 585 hp (430 kW) without changing the cubic capacity of 6.3 litres. Also, the Mercedes specialists from Merzig increase the maximum torque from 630 to 695 Newton metres. With a perfected motor management, an optimised exhaust system and most accurate adjustments, the E-class top model by Carlsson accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds. This is three tenths of a second less than the acceleration values of the E 63 AMG.

The head designer Rolf Schepp transferred the performance of the car to its appearance. His complete aerodynamics package containing front skirt, extended wings, side mouldings and rear skirt reveals the power of the Carlsson E-class at first sight. All of these components are made of polyurethane (PU-RIM) which guarantees perfect fit and highest stability. At the same time all aerodynamics components render an increasing downforce during rising speeds and therefore ensure the optimal power transmission onto the road and safety even in the limit range. The carbon diffuser grabs the stainless steel end pipes of the exhaust system on both sides and perfectly finishes the visual metamorphosis. When driving calmly, the exhaust system contains itself in a pleasant way, but once the driver accelerates, it presents a powerful sound backdrop which ideally matches the driving characteristics.

But Carlsson does not only enhance the performance and improves the aerodynamics.
The revolutionary refinement of the E 63 AMG also shows in the new wheel design. With the Carlsson wheel 1/5 REVO in 8.5 and 10.5×20 inches, the automobile manufacturer fits a trend-setting, one-piece light alloy wheel.

The wheel has five double spokes, one is painted in matt black and the others sparkle with a high-gloss polished surface and are aimed at the self-confident driver.

The refinement of the strongest E-class is perfected with the interior. There, Carlsson uses leather and ultrasuede and therefore creates an enormously luxurious atmosphere. Not only the seats, but also the steering wheel, the automatic gearstick and the insides of the doors are lined with the most delicate materials. Carlsson sets highlights with aluminium applications such as the door lock studs, the pedals and the foot rest. Another eye-catcher are the illuminated floor mats with an embedded, white illuminated Carlsson logo.

With the E-CK63 RS Carlsson in every respect presents a refined E-class. The Mercedes expert increases the athleticism, luxury and individualisation of the strongest business limousine. In addition, Carlsson confirms the renowned quality with a three-year Carlsson warranty for its own works.

Hamann Mercedes-Benz AMG G55 Supercharged

On the occasion of the 30th birthday of the Mercedes-Benz G model, HAMANN-Motorsport honours the legendary all-terrain vehicle with an extensive refining programme. With its exquisite tuning options for the current top model, the Mercedes-Benz AMG G55 Supercharged, HAMANN-Motorsport once more confirms that it is the first address for sporty accessories.

Already since 1986, the Laupheim-based company develops and manufactures products for individualising exclusive automobiles. The HAMANN technicians thereby profit from hundreds of successful participations in motor sports. The know-how which was gained there is the basis for development of HAMANN products and guarantees the highest level of product quality and production. The result: Stainless steel exhaust systems with a sporty and earthy sound, powerful performance enhancements, lifting-force reducing aerodynamics components and striking light alloy rims from 20 to 24 inches. The accessory assortment includes perfectly lined interior equipments in combination with colour-coordinated floor mats and non-slip aluminium pedals.

Already during the designing phase, HAMANN perfectly adjusts the individual components of the aerodynamic kit to the striking car body shape of the automobile. This results in an exciting styling with an optimised air flow over the car silhouette. Two integrated LED daytime running lights are integrated in the front spoiler and render a sporty and dynamic look and increase the passive safety at the same time. At the same time the lifting forces of the 5-door car are reduced in connection with the roof spoiler. Powerful fender extensions broaden the G-model by 40 millimetres at the front axle and 60 millimetres at the back axle.

The newly designed rear skirt with the integrated diffuser perfects the attractive overall appearance of the car body. If desired, air inlets for the bonnet and a 13-part exterior set made of carbon fibre (radiator grill, headlight protective grid, mirror cases, door handles, air inlets in the side wings, bonnet air blind) set further visual highlights

In addition to the exciting look of the aerodynamics look, the HAMANN engine department developed two powerful performance enhancements for the 5.4 litre motor. The customer can select an engine operating map with 35 hp / 25 kW additional output while the maximum torque increases to 100 Newton metres. The maximum power enhancement results after adding the performance kit HM 600 with breathtaking 600 hp / 441 kW (serial value: 507 hp / 373 kW) and an impressive torque of 782 Nm at 3,000 – 5,200 r.p.m. The extensive engine modification includes an amended motor electronic with annulations, a belt pulley kit, metal catalysts, 6-pipe sport end silencers, gear oil cooling system and an optimised gear control.

The modifications lead to an acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in only 5.1 seconds and the 4-wheel car achieves a maximum speed of 261 km/h (serial value: 210 km/h).

One of the technical highlights and maximum dimension in the available rim programme is the three-part HAMANN aluminium wheel called DESIGN EDITION RACE “ANODIZED“ 24“. Characteristic for the modern style of the ultra-light forged wheel is the black rim star and the titanium bolting. The ultra gloss polished rim flange emphasised the noble appearance. HAMANN offers the 24-inch wheel in the dimension 10,5J with tyres measuring 315/35 R 24.

In addition to the existing serially offered interior equipment, HAMANN presents accessories made of fine aluminium. The pedals and foot rests render motor sports atmosphere and perfectly go with the 24-part interior set made of carbon fibre. Door sill ledges made of brushed stainless steel with blue lights are adorned with the HAMANN logo as well as the embroidered HAMANN floor mat set perfect the overall look of the noble interior. The ergonomically re-designed airbag steering wheel in 4-spoke design is both sporty and lies very well in the hand. If desired, everything up to the entire leather equipment can be manufactured in artisan precision.

2face bodykit from MEC design

MEC Design has just release some new pictures of the CL with the 2face bodykit. The bodykit features some of the most curvacious lines available, and the front bumper looks meaner than the devil on a bad day. It is available with daylight driving lights and fog lights or with a mesh inset.

The rear bumper is available with the Sports Diffuser look or with a sleek elegant finish. The side skirts are available with or without LED lighting (5 lights per side) which is linked up to the internal lighting. The 3 piece rear spoiler finishes it all off nicely and is just another indication of MEC Designs attention to detail.

Carlsson wheel 1/5 Evo Ultra Light

The Mercedes-Benz G-class is made for off-road use and can therefore bear enormous forces. For the Carlsson engineers this is the perfect possibility to demonstrate that their lightest wheel can also resist hardest wear.

The wheel 1/5 Evo Ultra Light in the dimension 10×22 inches tackles an astonishing 1,100-kilogramme load capacity. The engineers achieve this enormous capacity with an elaborate forging process. Thereby, the aluminium is compressed in such a strong way that any air inclusion is forced out of the material. This process does not only allow maximum rigidity, but also saves up to 40 percent weight compared to other wheels in similar dimensions. Therefore, the unsprung masses are reduced and that leads to a more agile road behaviour.

In addition, the automobile manufacturer from Merzig/Germany offers the wheel 1/5 Evo UL for the Mercedes-Benz GL-class, ML-class, R-class and for the premium segments S-class and CL-class.

The wheel measuring 10×22 inches is available for 2,140 EUR including VAT. It can be ordered directly from the Carlsson web shop at www.carlsson.de or from any Mercedes-Benz dealer. For more information about the exclusive refining programme for the brands Mercedes-Benz and Smart, please visit the web site www.carlsson.de.

Mercedes-Benz GL by Carlsson

The Mercedes-Benz GL (Type X 164) is the model with the most opulent dimensions within the entire Mercedes motorcar product line. With the new RS-Kit, the automobile manufacturer Carlsson now gives the GL a sporty look and at the same time, a powerful appearance.

The newly designed front marks the most significant change. The front spoiler lip lowers the GL visually closer to the road. Therefore, the RS-Kit provides the large Benz with a dynamic character. While the large radiator grill and the two bonnet attachments emphasise the dominant look of the GL. At the same time, the grill inserts made of electro-polished stainless steel radiate elegance. Carlsson adds these inserts to the front skirt, the front spoiler lip, the side skirts, the bonnet and the radiator grill.

Carlsson, the Mercedes refiner from Merzig/Germany also modifies the lights of the car. The headlight inserts and the additional headlights significantly contribute to the new facial expression of the GL. The LED daytime running lights in the front spoiler lip complete the new light unit. At night time, they can also be used as position lamps.

The new side ledges give the powerful car sides a considerably more sporty touch; this impression is additionally accentuated with the grill inserts made of electro-polished stainless steel.

The rear is dominated by a new rear skirt attachment which holds the two oval stainless steel pipes of the sport sub-muffler.

Carlsson offers the entire GL aerodynamics kit for 10,119 EUR including VAT.

In order to ensure that the engine performance matches the new design of the Mercedes-Benz GL, the Carlsson engineers developed performance enhancements for the various engine types. The performance kit CK50 has been especially developed for the top model GL 500. The interaction between the optimised engine electronics and the sport air filter increases the performance from 388 hp (285 kW) to 435 hp (320 kW) at 6,000 revolutions per minute. Thereby, the maximum torque rises from 530 to 600 Newton metres. The performance kit can be obtained in connection with the RS-Design Kit for 3,799 EUR including VAT.

Carlsson also increases the performance of the diesel models. After Carlsson modifies the GL 420 CDI, it thrusts out 354 hp (260 kW) instead of the former 306 hp (225 kW). The modification is available for 1,545 EUR including VAT. For the entry model GL 320 CDI, Carlsson offers the additional control unit C-Tronic CD32 REVO with the adequate adapter and wire harness which increases the performance from the serial 224 hp (165 kW) to 269 hp (198 kW). Thereby, the maximum torque rises from 510 to 612 Newton metres. For 1,783 EUR including VAT, the Mercedes GL driver can obtain this Plug-and-Play-System which can be attached within a few minutes.

Intelligent lowering

In order to transfer the generated power ideally onto the road, Carlsson developed the intelligent lowering module C-Tronic® SUSPENSION. This system does not only lower the car by up to 30 millimetres, the control unit also recognises the road characteristics and continually adjusts the remaining spring travel. Therefore, the C-Tronic® SUSPENSION perfectly connects sporty driving with comfortable travelling. It’s available for cars with AIRMATIC-suspension for 1,309 EUR including VAT.

Another refining highlight for the Mercedes-Benz GL is the 22-inch wheel-set in the design 1/11 Evo Brilliant Edition. The one-part light alloy wheel has been especially developed for weight-intensive models such as the GL. Design, load capacity and low weight were the equally important factors for the development of the wheel. It increases the agility with a minimum of unsprung masses and at the same time provides highest stability and radiates elegance with its eleven spokes. Available as a wheel-set with Dunlop high performance tyres measuring 295/35 R 22, the 1/11 Evo Brilliant Edition can be obtained for 4,985 EUR including VAT.

The Lorinser LV8 for the Tuner Grand Prix

When the Tuner Grand Prix changes the Hockenheimring into a cauldron of smoking tyres on the 26th and 27th June, the premium tuners will again be bringing their fascinating cars to the field. Souped-up racing technology provides a special thrill, although it hampers everyday use.

So are they just “big toys for big boys”? Not everyone wants to just “play”, as the Lorinser LV8, which is based on the new C-Class, proves impressively. “It corresponds 100 percent to the licensing requirements for a road car and that is precisely what makes it so fascinating”, explains General Manager Marcus Lorinser, who remained tight-lipped about the HP of his latest model, although has already revealed that the car will enter the C3 class (limousines, suction cars).

Optically it is also not a racing vehicle for purists, but a real Lorinser in full “regalia” and with a complete aerodynamics package as well as attractive light-alloy wheels. They are of course not covered by slicks, but road tyres from tyre partner Continental, who will be exhibiting together with Sportservice Lorinser at the Tuner Grand Prix. All in all it is a round concept which is orientated to everyday life that will not just get the blessing of TUV, but also adoring looks on the street.
